The organizers of the Shanghai Masters golf tournament have confirmed in a statement that world number one and two time Major winner Rory McIlroy will return to the event to defend his title later in the year. The $ 7 million event was added to the schedule of the European Tour this year after the exploits of McIlroy last year, when he won the title from a field that consisted of 21 players.
And this year’s edition of the event will be the richest event in the history of the European Tour and will be held between the 25th and 28th of October.
