Golf doctor’ ending his career

Steve Cikaluk, popularly known as golf doctor, will shut his established trade in Nanaimo by the end of this month. Steve, a pro golf player who owns Golf Doctor Canada located on the Wilgress Road, is now 78 years age. Recently, he experienced some health problems; and he decided that this is the right time to call it a day.

Steve, who begun his golf career in Edmonton, was PGA of Canada member, the 2nd oldest and 3rd biggest pro golf association in the world. During his hey days, he played with top golf greats like Stan Leonard and Moe Norman.

Later Steve went on to lead as well as organize both curling and golf clubs throughout Canada before getting a job in the year 1980 in Qualicum Beach to run a golf course and it was very instrumental in the course’s redesign. In the year 2004, he settled to go out on his own and started the Vancouver Island Golf Centre in 2004 on the Bowen Road, before shifting the business to Wilgress Road 3 years ago and altering the name to Golf Doctor Canada.

Steve Cikaluk recently told that he love doing what he have been doing almost all of his life, but he has had some health problems lately; therefore, he made the decision to retire. He has been at this a very long time but the industry is becoming much more competitive these days. He does not play golf much anymore because of a bad shoulder. Therefore, he would probably spend much of his time just looking after his house with his wife Liliane.
